Descrição

The Marine Biosecurity Porthole contains the most complete source of information on the national distribution of non-native marine species in New Zealand. Full porthole records can be found at marinebiosecurity.org.nz/search-for-species. Distribution records in the portal come from four principal sources: Port Biological Baseline Surveys, National Marine High Risk Site Surveillance, Marine Invasive Taxonomic Service Other verified observations of non-native marine species. The data provided here is intended to supply spatial occurrence records from the porthole for the MPI run New Zealand established pests portal mpi.govt.nz/biosecurity/how-to-find-report-and-prevent-pests-and-diseases/new-zealand-established-pests-portal

Surveys were based on protocols developed in Australia by the CSIRO Centre for Research on Introduced Marine Pests (CRIMP) that have since been applied in more than 15 countries worldwide.

Área de Estudo	Over 20 ports, harbours and marinas in New Zealand were surveyed as part of the biological baseline surveys. Twelve locations are surveyed as part of the New Zealand National Marine High Risk Site Surveillance and MITS record come from many sources, including public, regional councils and other organisations. Their records span all of NZ.
