Description

This dataset is from a paper by Emilio Garcia (2004) on some new records of Opalia-like mollusks from around the Indo-Pacific region.

Many Indo-Pacific species of the epitoniid supraspecific taxa Gregorioiscala and Opalia are recorded, with range extensions for Gregorioiscala burchorum (DuShane, 1988), G. nierstraszi (Schepman, 1909), Opalia alba (de Boury, 1911), O. bicarinata (Sowerby, 1844), O. pupipunctata (de Boury, 1911), and O. sumatrensis (Thiele, 1925).

This study is a continuation of an earlier publication on new records of Indo-Pacific Epitoniidae (Garcia, 2003), in which extensions of known geographical ranges of a number of epitoniid species and the description of nineteen new species were reported. The material used in both of these reports was obtained as a result of expeditions by the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD, Nouméa) and the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle (MNHN, Paris).

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 46 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Versions

The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.
